Town Fund - What is it?
​
In September of 2019, Stainforth was named as one of 100 towns across England who had been invited to work with the government to develop innovative regeneration plans to transform their town’s economic growth prospects. Each town has been given an initial grant to support the development of a Town Investment Plan. This is an opportunity to work with partners and the community to identify priorities for investment and how we will attract local and private investment to join with us in meeting these aims.

£25 Million Town Deal
Once an investment plan has been developed, we will be in a position to negotiate with the government a Town Deal of up to £25 Million to realize our plans. This is currently planned for January 2021.

The objective of the Fund is to drive economic regeneration of towns to deliver long term economic and productivity growth through:

We’re working towards a #BetterStainforth – and we need your help. The Stainforth Town Deal Board are applying for funding from the Government’s new Towns Fund. We’d like to know your views on the proposed project ideas and where else in the town could benefit from investment?
Station Gateway -improving Hatfield and Stainforth Rail Station
Town Centre Hub - Revitalising the street scene and increasing footfall
Activated Network - Improving Stainforth for pedestrians and cyclists
Headstocks - Regenerating the Hatfield colliery headstocks alongside the creation of a new Country Park
