working with the community
2023-24
This week, the Mayor gave out 2 Mayor's Awards to the following people:
Adam Berry, a local, very talented and very proud Stainforth artist, whose work is shown in national galleries.
Peter Tinker, a local barber, who has been in the same premises for over 50 years. There isn't another person in Stainforth who has heard as many holiday stories as him!
2021-22
Cllr. David Marshall, along with members of the Town Council, worked extremely hard within the community during his mayoral year. A number of donations were given out to local groups/organisations as well as the local schools, churches and charities.
Here are just a few of the donations that were made:
Dave raised a whopping £2000.00 for Firefly. Dave chose Firefly as his charity to fundraise for throughout his mayoral year. Donations were given by many different people and businesses both locally and further afield and a huge thanks is sent to everyone who has contributed.
For the Queen's Platinum Jubilee Stainforth Town Council donated funds towards a number of street parties/events and also to Long Toft Primary and Kirton Lane School.
£100.00 was donated to Stainforth Methodist Chapel to help them with their Wednesday Coffee Mornings. The Methodist Chapel does a fantastic job of providing a warm space and a friendly face for people to visit. A further £140.00 was donated for their Christmas Breakfast with Stainforth Smile.
£100.00 was donated to Stainforth Smile.
